Stone age digital sundial
This simple yet faithful sundial is custom built for your location in order to read time according to the Time Zone where you live. We even offer a Daylight Savings Time convertable model which comes with two copper number bands (extra $10). To set this little clock just place it on a level surface in direct sunlight facing basically north, adjust the direction until the correct time shows on the center groove. In summer the numbers will read on the bottom of the line, in winter toward the top. (If you now came back at night and sighted along the groove you would find it pointing at the North Star, Polaris). (If you came back at full moon you would find it reading perfect clock time.)

This interesting looking instrument reads the time on the shadow's edge (11:00 in photo), reads the seasonal position of the sun by the shadow of the small pin across the gnomon (just past spring equinox), and gives direction as you look across and beyond dial; the 'motto' on this dial is the Sanskrit Om, often used in meditation by yogis.
